About Us
Normie is my service dog and the reason PuzzlePup exists. He has stood beside me through the hardest days, so I wanted to create products that make his days happier, healthier, and more fun.
Every purchase also helps PuzzlePup give back to Helping Paws Service Dogs, so another life-changing partnership can begin.
Built for my service dog, Normie. Perfected for yours.
Hi — I'm Mike, the founder of PuzzlePup, and this is my service dog, Normie.
I was born with half a working heart — a condition called HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome). It has meant more surgeries and hard days than I can count, and through every one of them, Normie has been right beside me. As I told KTTC: “Without him, I don't know if I'd be here still.”
Normie is the reason behind PuzzlePup. The business brings together handmade treats, snuffle mats, and three soft-chew supplement formulas. I want dog families to be able to see the product, read its label, and choose with confidence.
“Without him, I don't know if I'd be here still”: the story behind a Rochester man's puzzle-shaped dog treats.

Normie is a working dog, and working dogs need their minds engaged as much as their bodies. The name is a nod to enrichment — the snuffle mats, puzzle-shaped treats, and daily habits that keep a dog curious, calm, and content. Everything we offer starts from that same place: real care for the whole dog.

Giving back to Helping Paws
Normie is a Helping Paws service dog — a Minnesota nonprofit that raises and trains service dogs for people who need them. A portion of every PuzzlePup order goes directly toward training the next Helping Paws service dog, so the next person waiting on their own Normie gets there a little sooner.
